Satellite data indicates that Earth's inner radiation belt was penetrated. The Arase satellite observed electrons speeding up inside the Van Allen belt, which contradicts earlier ideas about the belt's protection. This might influence space weather and satellite operations. The data shows that killer electrons can penetrate a barrier believed to be impenetrable, so scientists need to update their models and safeguard satellites better.
