Southwestern Colorado is currently facing severe flooding due to heavy rainfall, which has prompted evacuations and road closures. The San Juan River is expected to rise to a critical level compared to the 1911 historic flood in Pagosa Springs. Mandatory evacuations are in effect as state and federal highways are closed. Volunteers are needed to assist with flood relief efforts. Flash floods have triggered evacuations in Arizona and Colorado, with a dire warning issued for the Colorado spa town.
